Application Guide for the $25,000 Wachovia NEXT Awards
The $25,000 Wachovia NEXT Awards recognize CDFIs and other opportunity finance institutions that have best demonstrated and defined excellence in the past two years. There are four $25,000 Wachovia NEXT Awards each year.
The awards recognize CDFI achievements in four different categories:
- Advocacy: For actively demonstrating leadership in policy and advocacy at the local, state or national level and having a policy success associated with their organization’s leadership.
- Community Impact: For demonstrating measurable outcomes associated with the delivery of the products and services.
- Financing: For bringing significant amounts of capital into underserved communities.
- Innovation: For developing effective new strategies to grow their organization in a sustainable manner and bring their financing to scale or bring financing to scale in partnership with others.
Applications for the 2008 Wachovia NEXT Awards for Opportunity Finance were due on May 30th at 5:00 P.M Eastern Standard Time. No more applications will be accepted. Applications are now being reviewed. Semi-finalists for the multi-million dollar awards will be selected on July 18th and finalists will be selected on August 25th. The winners for all six awards will be announced on December 10th at the 2008 Opportunity Finance Network Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
